Job summary

Acuren is seeking an AutoCAD 2D/3D Operator to develop detailed design models and drawings for piping and vessels, converting field ISO sketches into AutoCAD, and entering technical data into the mechanical integrity data management system.

The role involves reviewing specifications, creating precise CAD drawings, and collaborating with customers on schematics. On-site work is required, with a focus on quality and compliance with API and NDT principles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year degree in Mechanical Drafting, CAD, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in industrial drafting.
• Proficient in CAD platforms (AutoCAD, Plant3D, CadWorx).
• Knowledge of API codes and NDT principles.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, and related data to assess factors affecting piping and vessels.
• Utilize 3D laser scan point cloud data to generate 3D Models, 2D Isometrics, perform P&ID / PFD validation.
• Confer with customer representatives to review schematics and answer questions pertaining to results.
• Develop detailed AutoCAD drawings from sketches, notes and input materials.
• Review contract documents with team members and check drawings for accuracy and coordination.
• Work at client's facilities to gather information visually and with measuring equipment.
• Enter provided data into mechanical integrity data management system.

Position Summary

The AutoCAD 2D / 3D Operator will develop detailed design models / drawings and specifications for piping and vessels to the required technical quality as well as convert field ISO sketches into AutoCAD. The incumbent will also be responsible for entering technical data into the mechanical integrity data management system

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, and related data to assess factors affecting the structure of piping and vessels, and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
• Utilize 3D laser scan point cloud data to generate 3D Models, 2D Isometrics, perform P&ID / PFD validation.

• Working from sketches, notes and other input materials, develop detailed AutoCAD drawings.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-year degree in Mechanical Drafting, CAD, or other related discipline
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in industrial drafting
• Proficient in various CAD platforms (i.e. AutoCAD, Plant3D, CadWorx, etc.)
• Demonstrates working knowledge of relevant aspects of commercial planning and design
• Experience with CAD operation related to pressure vessels and piping
• Knowledge of API codes and other related NDT principles
• Proficient MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Proficient with computer editing software, PhotoShop, Equal
