Cox in Matteson, IL is hiring a part-time auto technician to perform light-duty maintenance and support shop operations. You will gain hands-on experience, work with a team, and develop skills in vehicle inspection and basic repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform light-duty auto technician tasks and support shop operations.
• Carry out oil and filter changes, fuel filter changes, and basic vehicle inspections.
• Test and maintain batteries; service starting/charging systems.
• Conduct tire changes, safety inspections, and interior/exterior repairs.
• Diagnose brake, steering, and suspension issues; assist repairs.
• Evacuate and recharge AC systems; perform general equipment maintenance.
• Source parts through approved vendors; assist with upfitting new vehicles.

What You'll Do

You\'ll perform light-duty work as an intermediate-level auto tech. You will improve your skills in a supportive environment. Other responsibilities include:

• Gain familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices.
• Perform auto maintenance tech duties, including oil and filter change, fuel filter change, transmission flush, spark plugs, and vehicle inspection.
• Perform battery testing, maintenance, and replacement and repair of starting and charging electrical systems.
• Perform various repairs including tires, safety inspections and interior/exterior components.
• Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering and suspension systems.
• Perform an evacuation and recharge on the AC system.
• Perform maintenance on equipment.
• Utilize approved vendors to obtain parts.
• May upfit new vehicles with necessary equipment
• Complies with applicable procedures and regulations regarding recyclables, fluids, tires, and disposable trash.

Compensation

MSCOX

USD 16.63 - 24.90 per hour

Details

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $16.63 - $24.90/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate\'s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
