Responsibilities

  • Perform tire and auto-related service tasks as assigned by the manager.

  • Replace wheels and mount/dismount tires.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes.
  • Road test vehicles as directed by management.

Job description

Colony Tire is currently seeking a full-time Automotive Service Technician to join our team! Our technicians work for competitive pay in a fast-paced environment. Summary

Employee will be required to perform tire and auto-related service as well as other duties as assigned by the manager.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities (Base)
  • Follow established procedures to inspect tires, wheels and vehicles before and after service.
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
  • Document work performed accurately and according to company policy.
  • Raise vehicles using hydraulic jacks and/or automotive lifts.
  • Unbolt and re-bolt wheels from/to vehicles, using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools.
  • Mount and dismount tires onto wheels.
  • Identify and inflate tires correctly for the size and ply.
  • Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels. Hammer required counterweights onto rims of wheels.
  • Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects.
  • Rotate tires to different positions on vehicles.
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as but not limited to oil changes, and lubrications.
  • Road test cars as directed by management.
  • Pull vehicles in and out of shop safely.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities (Retail Service)
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and brake inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair automotive issues including, but not limited to, engines, transmissions, suspension, and electrical systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems accurately.
  • Provide customers with accurate service recommendations based on diagnostics and inspections.
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently and meets safety standards and Colony Tire’s quality expectations.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces, adhering to Colony Tire’s safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and other team members regarding repairs, parts needs, and any additional service recommendations.
  • Follow up on repair orders and maintain detailed service records.
  • Stay up to date with new automotive technology, service procedures, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing any questions or concerns in a professional manner.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The environment may or may not be air‑conditioned/heated seasonally. Employees frequently work with dirty and greasy parts and in awkward positions. The employee must regularly lift up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. As a result, minor workplace injuries are not uncommon, but employees usually can avoid serious accidents if safe practices are observed.

Education

High school or equivalency, and/or related experience is preferred but not required.
