Job summary

Unknown Company is seeking a service apprentice to learn quality vehicle maintenance and repairs by working with an assigned technician. You will assist, move cars, pick up parts, and perform basic maintenance tasks under supervision.

Ideal candidates may not need prior experience and can progress toward becoming a Flat Rate Certified Technician as part of a four-day work week in a collaborative shop environment.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required or training provided.
• Education path ranges from no diploma to an AA/AS degree or equivalent.
• Competency in basic reading, writing and math is assumed.
• Certificates or training in automotive service may be gained during apprenticeship.
• License such as valid driver's license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform quality vehicle service maintenance and repairs alongside an assigned technician.
• Assist technician as needed.
• Deliver customer cars to service stalls as requested by technicians.
• Pick up parts from the parts department as directed by technicians.
• Perform oil changes, lubrication, basic maintenance and minor repairs as directed.
• Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Attend training classes and departmental meetings.
• Operate tools and equipment safely.
• Other duties as assigned.
