Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in San Diego is seeking a dedicated maintenance ambassador to repair and maintain company vehicles and equipment including cars, trucks, forklifts and high-reach machinery. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair systems while following safety policies and procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, automotive vocational training, ASE brakes certification, a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain the company license and pass a DOT

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ASE certification in brakes.
• Valid state driver’s license; ability to obtain company license and pass DOT physical.
• Ability to obtain SeaWorld forklift and high reach certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for entire shift.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and push/pull 100 lbs alone; push 1,000 lbs with assistance.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools; operate machinery and use protective gear.
• Ability to train and troubleshoot independently; scheduling flexibility.
• Heavy equipment operating skills a plus; experience in maintenance fields desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair small engine powered equipment (mowers, trimmers, etc.) and heavy equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.).
• Complete all required documentation.
• Inspect and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Operate automotive lifts, high reach, forklift and other machinery.
• Maintain and operate parking lot sweeper equipment.
• Deliver exceptional guest service.
• Assist guests and team members with minor automotive issues (flat tires, jump starts).
• Positively interact with vendors to receive parts and supplies.
• Clean and perform other duties as assigned.

What You Get To Do

You will safely repair and maintain company owned vehicles and equipment following all company policies and procedures. You will inspect, diagnose and repair all company vehicles include cars, trucks, vans and busses, trams, golf carts and utility vehicles.

What It Takes To Succeed

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of related experience or automotive vocational school training
• ASE certification in brakes
• Valid state driver’s license
• Ability to obtain company driver’s license and pass a DOT physical
• Ability to train and pass SeaWorld forklift and high reach certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand for entire shift
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and push/pull 100 lbs. alone as well as push 1,000 pounds with assistance
• Comfortable working at heights, around water and in any weather/temperature
• Knowledge of basic hand tools
• Ability to operate machinery and use protective gear
• Must be able to work independently and troubleshoot problems
• Basic computer proficiency
• Scheduling flexibility
• Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems preferred
• Understanding of automotive electrical and mechanical controls desired
• Heavy equipment operating skills a plus
• Experience in other maintenance related fields highly desirable

Compensation:

38.00 USD Hourly
