Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking a maintenance technician to perform general repairs, inspect systems, and troubleshoot issues across facilities. You will plan work from blueprints, manage supplies, and support upkeep to ensure operations run smoothly.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, ASE certification, and hands-on repair experience or a willingness to train. On-the-job training is offered, with emphasis on safe, efficient maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ASE American Service Excellence certification and prior training or could be a new graduate.
• Related experience preferred.
• On-the-job training offered.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW plan.
• Inspect and identify equipment or machines needing repair.
• Troubleshoot issues to determine repairs.
• Plan repair work using blueprints or manuals.
• Perform general repairs not requiring a specialist.
• Perform routine maintenance on building systems.
• Clean and assist with upkeep of facilities.
• Order supplies and materials for repairs and maintenance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Description

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
• Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
• Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
• Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Required

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ASE American Service Excellence certification and prior training or could be a new graduate.
• Related experience preferred.
• On-the-job training offered.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
• Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Other Requirements

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
