Progressive Insurance is seeking a trainee for the auto damage claims pathway in Augusta, ME. This field position includes a company car and travel within the assigned territory, with occasional office reporting.

You will train to write estimates, inspect vehicles, and assist in claims decisions under supervision. The role is designed to prepare you for advancement to an auto damage claims adjuster position, with responsibilities spanning negotiations, documentation, and claim resolution.

Qualifications

• Three years of relevant work experience.
• Associate's degree and a minimum of two years relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and compliance with Progressive’s driving standards and/or policies.

The auto damage claims adjuster – trainee is a training position for those who aspire to move into the auto damage claims adjuster role. As an associate, you’ll complete training designed to prepare you complete vehicle damage estimates and/or oversee the estimatic quality of repair facilities. You’ll also complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total loss evaluations, and set clear expectations and timelines. Upon successful completion of training, the auto damage trainee role will prepare you for career advancement toward an auto damage claims adjuster role.

This is a field position with access to a company car and frequent driving within your assigned geographical area. We assess our workload collectively, which means you may cover assignments outside your geographical area. You may also be required to report into an office occasionally.

Minimum Qualifications

• Three years of relevant work experience
• {OR} Associate's degree and a minimum of two years relevant work experience

• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and compliance with Progressive’s driving standards and/or policies

Territory

• This position covers the geographical territory of Augusta, ME and surrounding areas. We assess our workload collectively, which means you may cover assignments outside of your geographical area as well.

Compensation

• $58,100 - $62,400/year
• Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
