The position involves coordinating with team members, removing interior components to access damage, and mentoring apprentices. A strong background in repair processes and welding is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a frame machine.
• Certification in body repair preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer.
• I-CAR welding certification.
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
• Ability to supervise repair personnel.
• Must pass thorough background check.

Responsibilities

• Examine damaged vehicles and plan repair processes.
• Communicate repair status with team.
• Perform quality repairs with emphasis on on-time completion.
• Decide between repair vs. replacement considering safety, cost and cycle time.
• Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical parts, and trim to access areas.
• Attend required safety meetings.
• Grind, file, and finish repaired surfaces with appropriate tools.
• Direct an apprentice when needed and explain procedures.
