Job summary

Crash Champions is seeking a skilled Vehicle Repair Technician in Chicago Heights to examine, plan, and execute high-quality collision repairs. You will collaborate with a team to ensure safety, accuracy, and timely completion, including directing an apprentice when needed.

Responsibilities include choosing repair vs. replacement, handling disassembly and access, and participating in safety meetings. A frame machine and body repair certification are preferred, with background checks required.

Qualifications

• Ability to use frame machine.
• Certification in body repair preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer.
• I-CAR welding certified.
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
• Ability to supervise repair personnel.
• Must be able to pass thorough background check.

Responsibilities

• Exams damaged vehicle and plans repair process.
• Communicates with team on vehicle repair status.
• Performs quality repairs with on-time focus.
• Decides on repair vs. replace considering safety, cost, cycle time.
• Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and window equipment to access vehicle.
• Participates in safety meetings.
• Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces with power and hand tools.
• Directs an apprentice in tasks and explains procedures.
