Job summary

Crash Champions in Lombard, IL is seeking a Body Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for examining damaged vehicles, planning repair processes, and performing high-quality repairs. Additional tasks include directing apprentices and ensuring all safety protocols are followed.

We offer a competitive compensation package, with a posted pay range from $65,000 to $175,140 based on skills, experience, and qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.

• Must be able to pass thorough background check.

Responsibilities

• Examine damaged vehicle and efficiently plan repair process.
• Work and communicate with others on vehicle repair status.
• Perform quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind.
• Make decisions on repair vs. replace considering safety, cost, and cycle time.
• Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle.
• Participate in all required safety meetings.
• File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools.
• Direct the work of an apprentice when needed.

Skills

Ability to use frame machine

Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer

Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data

Ability to supervise repair personnel

Education

Certification in body repair preferred

I-CAR welding certified

We are committed to providing competitive compensation for this role. The actual offer will be based on various factors, including but not limited to: job related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant certifications and qualifications.

This position is paid on a commission/flag rate structure. Flag pay is guaranteed to meet local minimum wage requirements for all hours worked each week. The compensation range listed is the average flag pay range for a typical full‑time employee in this position.
