Job summary

Kentucky Collision Centers is seeking an Auto Body Technician to repair damaged vehicle body parts to spec, restore bodywork and prepare vehicles for finish.

The role requires 1–3 years in collision repair, a high school diploma, ability to lift up to 70 pounds, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in collision repair.
  • Knowledge of vehicle structure to remove and replace damaged components such as doors, windscreens and fenders.
  • Demonstration of safety precautions required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strength to perform average lifting up to 35 pounds and occasionally over 70 pounds.
  • Demonstrated agility, balance and coordination for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling in tight spaces.
  • Ability to work in a high-performance, fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to established standards; prepares vehicles for body repair and restores bodywork to its original condition.
  • Communicates with management regarding any additional repairs that may be needed.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in good working order and keeps the work area safe and organized.
  • Complies with federal, state and local regulations affecting body shop operations (e.g., hazardous waste disposal).
  • Cooperates with other personnel in repair and prepping of vehicles.

The Auto Body Technicianis responsible forrepairingdamaged vehicle body partsin accordance withcompany specifications,processesand time standards. The Auto Body Technician is skilled in analyzing,assessingand fixing damaged vehicles. This roleis responsible forrepairing,replacingand refinishing outer body parts. This position will also be skilled in fixing internal automotive structures.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to established standards. This position prepares vehicles for body repair work. Additionally, the Auto Body Technician will be challenged with restoring bodywork to its original condition. This may include removing damaged parts and installing replacement partsutilizingspecialized tools to repair the damage and realign structural components.


Communicates with managementregardinganyadditionalrepairs that may be needed on a customer’s vehicle. Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised completion/delivery time.


Maintains tools and equipment in good working order. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Ensures thatthe workarea is organized, clean and free of safety hazards.


Maintains and wears all required safetyand healthpersonal protective equipment, including eye protection.


Cooperates andassistsother personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles, often dependent upon schedule and area of expertise.


Understands, keeps abreastofandcomplies withfederal,stateand local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Mustpossessa High School Diploma or equivalent


Solid working knowledge of the processes, techniques and materials used in repairing automotive equipment with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in the collision repair arena.


Possess extensive knowledge of vehicle structure to remove and replace damaged components, such as doors,windscreensand fenders.


Demonstration of safety precautionsrequiredin performing the work in this position.


Possessa strongattention to detail in addition to the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.


Strength to perform averagelifting upto 35 pounds and occasionally over 70 pounds.


Demonstrated agility, equilibrium and coordination asrequiredwhen climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching,crawlingand balancing under precarious conditions.


Strong arm, hand and finger dexterity withdemonstratedphysical capacity to reach, handle, and feel in tight confined spaces with limited visibility.


Ability to work in high performance, fast-paced production environment.
