Job summary

Mills Auto Group in Minnesota is seeking an entry-level Prep Technician to support the vehicle preparation process before painting. You will learn sanding, masking, and quality standards in a fast-paced body shop environment. Key duties include sanding and masking automotive panels, followed by color sanding and polishing after paint.

Qualifications

Prior auto-body experience is a plus though not required.

This position is involved in all aspects of the vehicle preparation process before a vehicle that has been in our shop for auto body repair goes to the paint department. Qualified candidates must possess attention to detail, high quality workmanship, and effective communication. Candidates must be passionate about working in the Auto Body industry!

The primary duties of this position are:

Sanding and masking automotive panels in preparation for painting.
Color sanding and polishing automotive panels after paint work is complete.
Ensuring all work meets our high-quality standards.
Additional duties as assigned by management.

Prior auto-body experience is a plus though is not required. We have outstanding training opportunities available to those willing to grow.

The starting hourly pay rate range for this position is $18.00 – $19.00+ and will be evaluated based upon relevant skills, training, experience, education and other job-related factors permitted by law.
