Bates Collision Centers in Channelview, TX is seeking a Top Tech to join our family-owned shop with over 30 years of service. We offer a competitive benefits package and a culture focused on quality, safety, and growth.

You will assist Estimators by disassembling vehicles, performing repairs, and handling body work with MIG and other tools. We provide ongoing training, I-CAR certifications, and opportunities for advancement within a busy, professional shop.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in general automotive or body repair.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles vehicle to assist Estimator with preparing a 100% Repair Plan.
• Reassembles vehicles and performs quality repairs.
• Completes small body work, files, grinds, and sands repaired panels.
• Operates a variety of hand and power tools.
• Assists & trains with the lead body technician in tasks listed in the role.

Job Description

Disassembles vehicle to assist Estimator with preparing a 100% Repair Plan;

Reassembles vehicles;

Assists in performing quality repairs;

Completes small body work/panel repair; files, grinds, and sands repaired panels using power tools and hand tools;

Operates a variety of hand and power tools (e.g. MIG & plastic welders, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sanders, etc.)

Assists & trains with the lead body technician in tasks including but not limited to the list below:

• Vehicle Frame Repair Set-up & Measuring
• MIG Welding & Plastic Welding
• Plastic Repair
• Glass Replacement
• Mechanical Repairs

Qualifications

1 year experience in general automotive or body repair
