Job summary

The teacher will maintain a positive educational environment, plan individualized lessons, and collaborate with families and colleagues to support student growth and success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field required.
• Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate, appropriate for subject area.
• Course work should include Foundations of special education, behavior management techniques, assessment and evaluation methods, instructional strategies for students with disabilities and inclusive teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials.
• Uses a variety of instructional and management techniques.
• Plans lessons considering individual learning needs and district goals.
• Utilizes district-adopted textbooks and curriculum guides.
• Incorporates higher level thinking and real-life applications into lesson plans.
• Creates instructional materials and assessments aligned with learning objectives.
• Uses technology to enhance learning experiences.
• Collects and analyzes student achievement data to guide decisions.
• Maintains positive classroom and campus management per policies.
• Develops IEPs and aligns goals with instructional delivery.
• Communicates with parents and students about progress and needs.
• Supports school goals and collaborates with staff.
