Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools seeks a dedicated teacher for its Autism Day Program for the 2026-2027 school year. You will implement STAR-based instruction and ABA strategies, using Teachtown and other tools to support students with autism in a center-based setting.

You will collaborate with teachers, administrators and specialists to determine student eligibility, place students in the right programs, monitor progress and communicate effectively with families.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for Virginia Collegiate Professional teaching license in Special Education.
• Experience with autism-focused instruction and evidence-based practices preferred.
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs and monitor progress in online systems.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with parents and collaborate with a team.

Responsibilities

• Plans, delivers and evaluates instruction aligned to IEP goals and standards.
• Completes required training and maintains consistency in autism classrooms.
• Applies curriculum knowledge and specialized strategies to improve student outcomes.
• Complies with IDEA and Federal regulations in instruction.
• Assesses learning and adjusts instruction to meet student needs.
• Documents progress and communicates with parents through multiple channels.
• Supervises instructional assistants and maintains classroom order.
• Writes effective IEPs in compliance with division procedures.
