Job summary

Behavioral Health Works, Inc. is seeking a motivated Behavior Technician/RBT to deliver ABA therapy in homes and communities across San Diego. You will work with children and families, track progress, and stay active throughout sessions.

The role is part-time (10–15 hours/week) with afternoon availability, mileage reimbursement, and opportunities for professional growth. Must have at least 60 college credits or an RBT certification, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• 60 college credits or an active RBT certification or 6 months of work with children with developmental disabilities.
• Must have availability of at least 3 days per week, 10+ hours per week, after 3 PM.
• Must have reliable transportation and be comfortable driving to client sessions.
• Access to a smartphone with internet to capture session data.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home and community-based ABA therapy and track client progress.
• Engage with children, implement behavior support plans, and ensure client safety.

Here’s What We’re Looking For

• Minimum of 60 College Credits completed OR 6-months of recent work experience with children with developmental disabilities OR an active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification
• Must meet a minimum availability of 3 days per week for at least 10 hours per week, with availability after 3 PM to accommodate client and family scheduling needs.
• You’ll need reliable transportation & must be comfortable driving to client sessions
• Access and ability to use a smartphone or similar device with internet services capable of capturing client session data

Position Requirements

• Stay active throughout the day by sitting on the floor, kneeling, bending, crouching, standing, and frequently transitioning between floor and standing during therapy sessions.
• Bring energy, patience, and professionalism while actively engaging with children, implementing behavior support plans, and ensuring client safety by responding calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviors.
• Lift or assist children and equipment up to 50 lbs. (as required by assigned cases), complete documentation using electronic devices, and travel reliably between assigned client locations.
