Job summary

Achieve Beyond in Stamford, CT is hiring Part-time, Hourly Autism Aides to provide direct ABA instruction under BCBA guidance in home, clinic or community settings. You will participate in team meetings, collect data, and support families with strategies for consistency.

We value passion for helping children, reliability, and strong communication. Previous ABA exposure is preferred; 20-hour training and competency assessment are required after hire.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years working with special needs children ages 2-21 in a supervised setting.
• Successful completion of or current enrollment in an undergraduate/graduate program in psychology, healthcare, human services, education, or related field.
• ABA experience preferred; 20-hour classroom training provided by Achieve Beyond and passing grade on competency exam.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct ABA instruction according to the educational plan outlined by the BCBA.
• Participate in collaborative team meetings with BCBA and other Autism Aides/Behavior Therapists on the case.
• Communicate frequently with family members by providing debriefs at the end of each session, as well as resources and strategies for home and community.
• Collect daily data and organize child's program book weekly.
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families in accordance with State and Federal regulations.

We currently offer our services in the entire metro New York area (including the five boroughs of NYC, Hudson Valley and Long Island) and Albany, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware,California (within in the greater Los Angeles and San Francisco areas), Minnesota,and the Virginia/ Maryland/ DC area. We specialize in conducting initial evaluations and providing ongoing services in home, community and clinic settings. LOCATION: cases available throughout the Stamford area

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct ABA instruction according to the educational plan outlined by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst
• Participate in collaborative team meetings with BCBA and other Autism Aides/Behavior Therapists on the case
• Communicate frequently with family members by providing debriefs at the end of each session, as well as resources and strategies that can be implemented in the home and community to promote consistency
• Collect daily data and organize child's program book weekly
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families in accordance with State and Federal regulations

Requirements

Must have a passion for working with children, families, and therapists!

• At least 2 years working withspecial needs children ages 2-21 in a supervised setting

OR

successful completion of or current enrollment in an undergraduate/graduate program in psychology, healthcare, human services, education, or related field

• Experience using ABA preferred
• Successful completion of 20 hour classroom training provided by Achieve Beyond and passing grade on competency exam upon completion of training

• Excellent communication skills with children, family members, and supervisor

• Must be comfortable working in a home-based setting

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases including but not limited to driving personal vehicle, walking, and/or use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to climb and descend staircases
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel, and/ or crawl for extended periods

Compensation is determined based on experience and education, and will be discussed during the interview process.
