Job summary

Network for Hope is seeking an Authorization Services Educator to lead training and development for Family Support Coordinators. You will design programs, mentor staff, and align education with regulatory requirements and NFH values.

You will partner with department leadership to set priorities, evaluate curricula, and ensure effective onboarding, ongoing education, and competency assessments across the Authorization Services Department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in allied health, education, business, sales or marketing, pastoral care, psychology, social work, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Family Support Coordinator in an OPO.
  • Strong empathy, discretion, and sensitivity; exceptional authorization rate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement onboarding and ongoing education for departmental staff.
  • Evaluate and improve educational curricula and onboarding materials.
  • Facilitate on-the-job training and classroom programs for new staff, in person and virtually.
  • Manage orientee schedules ensuring field and classroom exposure.
  • Identify learning styles and adapt curricula to enhance training effectiveness.
  • Provide education on new processes and participate in preceptor training and education opportunities.
  • Serve as expert resource and liaison for training activities with NFH.
  • Maintain excellence in departmental documentation and progress feedback.

Job description

At Network for Hope (NFH), the Authorization Services Educator leads the training and development of Family Support Coordinators by providing instruction, coaching, mentoring, support, and competency evaluation. This role develops standardized training programs, mentors new staff, promotes continuous learning, and ensures education aligns with organizational values, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Reporting to the Education & Development Manager, the Educator partners with department leadership to identify priorities and meet the ongoing training and development needs of the Authorization Services Department.

Key Responsibilities
Training and Education
  • Collaborates with associated department leadership to plan, develop, coordinate, and implement training presentations and materials for departmental onboarding, ongoing education, and annual competencies.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of educational curricula.
  • Facilitates on-the-job training and in-service educational programs in a positive, empathetic, and professional manner for new staff through on-site preceptorship and classroom training, both in person and virtually.
  • Manages the orientee schedule to ensure adequate experience is provided in both field and classroom settings, including redirecting planned case activity when appropriate.
  • Identifies individual learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses and adapts educational curricula and delivery methods to enhance training effectiveness.
  • Provides education to staff on the implementation of new processes.
  • Successfully completes required preceptor education and training opportunities provided internally and by external partners.
  • Serves as an expert resource for new and existing department team members.
  • Serves as a liaison between the associated department and the Education & Development team for all training-related activities.
Documentation
  • Sets a standard of excellence in departmental documentation by maintaining expectations for minimal errors and developing best practices.
  • Documents final signoff on new staff orientation checklists.
  • Documents appropriate progress feedback to support new hire check-ins.
  • Participates in process improvement projects, as applicable.
Competency and Training Needs Assessment
  • Establishes learning objectives and assigns appropriate tasks or educational opportunities to preceptees in support of these objectives.
  • Ensures staff can effectively perform the essential functions of the role before being released from the departmental orientation period.
  • Frequently assesses multiple orientees to evaluate progress throughout departmental orientation.
  • Assists associated department leadership with the delivery of milestone competency assessments for assigned orientees.
  • Validates orientees' understanding of all NFH SOPs and regulatory standards.
  • Oversees the preceptor program, including selection, evaluation, and continuing education.
Communication
  • Regularly provides valuable feedback to appropriate associated department leadership to monitor and evaluate orientation progress.
  • Proactively communicates with staff to gather feedback and validate orientation checklist signoffs.
  • Sets exemplary standards of communication with internal and external partners by consistently demonstrating NFH's core values.
  • Participates in the initial 30/60/90-day check-in process for respective orientees.
Advance Practice
  • Maintains competency in associated department processes and expectations.
  • Stays current on policies, procedures, and best practices and ensures training materials are updated regularly to reflect the most current expectations.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in allied health, education, business, sales or marketing, pastoral care, psychology, social work, or related field required. Extensive experience may be substituted for educational requirements and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Family Support Coordinator in an OPO is required. Proven skills as a Family Support Coordinator as evidenced by knowledge of the donation process as well as strong skills in empathy, discretion, and sensitivity preferred. Exceptional authorization rate for both organ and tissue donation is preferred.
