Job summary

Supabase is hiring for a hands-on engineer to design, implement, and evolve scalable authentication features. You will work across Go server code and TypeScript client libraries, contributing to OAuth, OIDC, SAML, and related protocols.

You will own performance, observability, and migrations across a wide Postgres fleet. You’ll collaborate with teams across Supabase to deliver a seamless developer experience, provide RFC-driven changes, and participate in a globally distributed, remote-friendly

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional Go development in production.
• 2+ years building authentication systems and protocol support.
• Strong relational database experience (Postgres preferred).
• Solid knowledge of TypeScript in addition to Go.
• Strong web fundamentals (cookies, sessions, JWT, HTTP).
• Experience with OAuth/OIDC/SAML and security concepts.
• Experience with Next.js and other web frameworks (Rails/Django/Laravel).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable authentication features in Go and TypeScript.
• Work across server and client stacks, including Next.js integrations.
• Own performance, reliability, and scalability of the Auth server.
• Contribute to Auth architecture evolution and protocol support.
• Plan and execute safe database migrations across Postgres fleet.
• Improve observability: metrics, tracing, alerting, dashboards.
• Write and review RFCs as part of product development.
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver a seamless developer experience.
• Support community feedback on GitHub, Discord, and other channels.
