Job summary

BTI Security in Austin, TX is seeking dedicated Armed Security Officers to patrol exterior and community areas, monitor entrances, and control access for employees and visitors. Strong written and verbal communication is essential.

You will operate security equipment, respond to incidents, prepare detailed reports, and support the Supervisor and Operations Manager. This role requires reading, writing, and understanding English, plus a Texas armed security license.

Qualifications

• Two years of security experience.
• Valid Security Guard Card.
• Strong knowledge of the security industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer service driven mindset.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Patrolling and monitoring exterior and community areas on-premises.
• Access control of entrances and exits and departure of employees and visitors.
• Monitoring surveillance cameras for disruptions or unlawful activities.
• Reading, writing, speaking and understanding English per contract requirements.
• Providing detailed reports on daily activities and incidents.
• Using magnetometer and X-ray machines as required.
• Using two-way radios for clear communication.
• Performing CPR or first aid when needed.
• Ensuring credentials are maintained per contract.
• Performing other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Project Manager.
• Reporting to the Operations Manager.

• Armed Security Officers perform a variety of security-related duties depending on the post.
• Patrolling and monitoring exterior and community areas on-premises.
• Access control of entrances and exits and departure of employees and visitors.
• Monitoring surveillance cameras for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures per contract.
• Provide detailed reports on daily activities and incidents that may have occurred.
• Knowledgeable and able to effectively use magnetometer and X-ray machines.
• Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios clearly and concisely.
• Performing CPR or first aid when needed.
• Ensure credentials are maintained per contract requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Project Manager.

Minimum Requirements

• Two (2) years of experience security experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Security Guard Card.
• Strong relevant knowledge of the security industry.
