Job summary

The United States Attorneys' Offices seek an Assistant United States Attorney to handle high-stakes federal cases in SDTX. You will manage complex litigation, advocate in federal court, and work on land condemnation, immigration enforcement, warrants, asylum and civil matters. You must be a U.S. citizen or national with a J.D.

and be admitted to the bar. Residency within the district (or within 25 miles) is required. Selective Service registration may apply.

Qualifications

• Citizenship or national status required.
• J.D. degree (or equivalent) and active bar admission in any U.S. jurisdiction.
• Residency within the district or within 25 miles thereof.
• Selective Service registration if applicable.
• Background checks including fingerprint, credit and tax checks.

Responsibilities

• Tackle high-stakes federal cases and manage complex litigation.
• Represent the United States in federal court and handle investigations and trials.
• Engage in land condemnation matters, immigration enforcement, issuing warrants, asylum and civil litigation.
