Job Position Description

Community Action is seeking an Auditor/Inspector Supervisor to join our leadership team to drive excellence in energy conservation. In this role, you will oversee our field operations and lead a team of Auditor/Inspectors to ensure that our energy conservation program provides a safe, healthy, and efficient environment for low‑income households in Washington County.

Abbreviated Duties List
  • Serve as a leader and mentor, ensuring that every home audit and inspection meets both our high technical standards and our mission to provide person‑centered, culturally responsive support.
  • Provide active supervision, training, and professional development for field staff. You will set priorities, evaluate work quality, and provide the technical guidance needed for team success.
  • Partner with the Energy Conservation Manager to develop and implement service delivery systems. You'll help lead program decision‑making and ensure we are meeting all local, state, and federal grant requirements.
  • Conduct field visits for audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with building codes, technical specifications, and safety protocols. You will be the point person for addressing failed inspections and coordinating with contractors.
  • Represent the program on regional committees and work groups. You will serve as the lead contact for home rehabilitation/repair partnerships, fostering collaboration to maximize our community impact.
  • Coordinate technical training sessions with outside partners and training centers to keep your team at the forefront of energy efficiency best practices.
Abbreviated Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Energy Conservation or Social Services) OR at least 3 years of related experience delivering energy conservation assistance.
  • Demonstrated experience in weatherization auditing and testing. You must be proficient in operating the REM/Design computer audit tool.
  • Ability to safely operate diagnostic equipment, combustion equipment, ladders, and power/hand tools.
  • Skill in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures, building codes, and complex government regulations.
  • Proven ability to supervise and coordinate a team. You are organized, communicative, and capable of managing competing priorities with accuracy.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook) and experience managing complex database applications and manipulating data for reporting.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities without losing track of details.
  • Strong skills in working with diverse populations (low-income, seniors, and minority communities) and the ability to work both independently and as a team lead.
  • A commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, and workplace safety.
