Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Staff Auditor to execute financial, operational, compliance, and special audits across MPC and MPLX activities. The role supports the full audit lifecycle, including planning, testing, and reporting, to assess control effectiveness and risk impact.

You will collaborate with audit leads and stakeholders, develop testing programs, and document results with adherence to internal standards. Travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Audit, related field required.
• Two (2) years of audit, accounting or business experience required.
• Professional Certifications are preferred: CPA, CIA, CFE, or other related industry certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform Staff Auditor functions for financial, operational, compliance, and special audits across MPC and MPLX activities.
• Assist in planning, risk assessment, and testing; document workpapers and communicate observations.
• Use data analytics to enhance audit effectiveness and ensure adherence to departmental standards.
• Support advisory reviews for new processes and systems and participate in closing conferences.
