Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company in Des Moines, IA is seeking an Auditor II to join our finance team. Under supervision, you will plan and perform financial, operational, supplier and joint owner audits, preparing audit programs, workpapers and reports to support management decisions.

You will interact with employees at all levels, communicate audit results, develop action plans with management, and use tools to analyze data. Domestic and international travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent work experience.
• CPA or CIA certification preferred for Auditor position.
• 3–5 years of auditing, risk management or finance experience (Auditor II).
• Auditing skills to understand internal control principles.
• Analytical skills to recognize patterns and to draw conclusions and recommend actions.
• Accounting/finance skills to interpret financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform financial, operational, supplier and joint owner audits.
• Prepare audit programs, workpapers and reports.
• Communicate audit status and results to management.
• Develop action plans for recommendations with management.
• Complete assignments within budget and timelines.
• Utilize software to retrieve and analyze audit information.
• Provide technical input for project planning.
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested.
