This position has a mandatory positive education requirement. To qualify for the GS-0511 series, you must satisfy one of the following basic requirements:
A full 4-year course of study in accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or publicadministration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. (The 24 semester hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law).
At least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:

For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service.
