Job summary

CBIZ is seeking an experienced Audit Supervisor to join our growing Alternative Investment Group (AIG) practice in a hybrid environment. You will lead audit engagements for private equity, hedge funds, venture capital funds, SBICs, and investment advisors, while mentoring staff and ensuring quality assurance in a fast-paced setting.

You will develop deep knowledge of client businesses, manage budgets, review team work, and support billing and business development activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred
• At least 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field
• 1 year supervisory experience preferred
• CPA candidates preferred
• Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
• Proficient use of applicable technology
• Must be able to travel based on client and business needs

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements for alternative investment entities
• Develop a thorough understanding of the client's business and contribute to analysis and planning
• Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete tasks within time; explain variances
• Review engagement team members' work and provide constructive review points
• Supervise and guide team members on engagements and foster a collaborative environment
• Train and mentor engagement team members
• Assist in the client billing process with Managers, Directors or MDs
• Identify an industry or area of specialization and develop expertise
• Leverage industry knowledge to blend cross-serve opportunities
• Participate in practice development activities and refer potential engagements
• Execute administrative duties as assigned
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

CBIZ is seeking an experienced Audit Supervisor to join our growing Alternative Investment Group (AIG) practice.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of alternative investment clients, including private equity funds, hedge funds, venture capital funds, fund-of-funds, and investment advisors. The Audit Supervisor will lead multiple audit engagements, supervise and mentor team members, and serve as a key point of contact for clients while delivering high-quality assurance services in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

• Lead the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements for alternative investment entities, including private equity, hedge funds, venture capital funds, SBICs, and investment advisors
• Develop a thorough understanding of the client's business, contributing to the analysis and planning of client engagements
• Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks within the time requested, explain variances when needed
• Achieve charge hour goals
• Review engagement team members' accounting, tax or auditing work: provide constructive review points
• Supervise and guide team members on engagements, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
• Train and mentor engagement team members, supporting their technical and professional development
• Assist in the client billing process with Managers, Directors or Managing Directors
• Identify an industry or area of specialization and develop skills, knowledge and expertise in that area
• Leverage industry knowledge and business acumen blending cross serve opportunities into client engagements
• Participate in practice development activities, such as membership in qualified organizations, capable of referring potential engagements
• Execute administrative duties as assigned
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
