Job summary

gpac is seeking an Audit Senior / Audit Manager in the Greater Chicago Area. The role involves planning and leading financial statement audits, communicating findings to leadership and clients, and mentoring junior staff.

You will develop client relationships across diverse industries while advancing technical expertise in a collaborative assurance team. The ideal candidate has progressive public accounting audit experience, strong communication skills, and CPA consideration.

Qualifications

• Progressive public accounting audit experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to identify, analyze, and clearly communicate audit findings
• Leadership or staff mentoring experience preferred for Manager level

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform, and oversee financial statement audit and assurance engagements
• Execute audit procedures in accordance with standards
• Identify audit findings and communicate them to managers and clients
• Prepare and review audit workpapers and documentation
• Develop understanding of clients' operations and controls
• Serve as key client contact throughout engagements
• Manage timelines, priorities, and deliverables
• Supervise and mentor audit professionals
• Build relationships with clients and teams
• Maintain knowledge of accounting and auditing standards
