Job summary

A leading CPA advisory firm is seeking an Audit Senior Associate in Rancho Cordova to provide industry-focused audit and assurance services to middle market clients. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA preferred, and two years of auditing experience. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or sufficient coursework to sit for the CPA exam.
  • CPA preferred or actively pursuing completion of exam.
  • Two (2)+ years of experience in financial statement auditing services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assurance and consulting services to industry specific clients.
  • Engage with clients year-round to gather information for testing.
  • Plan and supervise all audit engagement activities.
  • Review and perform substantive testing on balance sheets and income statements.
  • Identify internal control deficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in business recommendations discussions with managers and partners.
  • Receive direct coaching and mentoring on the job.

What You Will Do
  • Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing various assurance and consulting services to industry specific clients.
  • Proactively engage with your clients throughout the year to gather needed information to complete testing and respond to questions raised.
  • Plan and supervise the execution of all audit engagement activities.
  • Review and perform substantive testing on client’s balance sheets and income statements.
  • Conduct and review tests to assess deficiencies of internal controls and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Play an active role in discussions with the Manager and Partner relative to business recommendations resulting from testing performed and information gathered.
  • Learn and grow from direct on the job coaching and mentoring along with participating in firm wide learning and development programs.
  • Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and with your clients.
  • Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals.

Qualifications
  • Successful candidates will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an undergraduate degree with sufficient coursework to sit for the CPA exam.
  • CPA preferred or actively pursuing completion of exam.
  • Two (2)+ years of experience providing financial statement auditing services within a public accounting firm.
  • Demonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving.
  • Strong leadership, project management, organizational and analytical skills, initiative, adaptability.
  • Microsoft Suite skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The pay rate ranges for this job position are posted below. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.

  • In Fresno (CA), and Stockton (CA): the pay rate range is $79,400 to $108,900.
  • In Rancho Cordova/Sacramento (CA): the pay rate range is $91,000 to $145,350.
  • In Salinas (CA): the pay rate range is $86,000 to $118,800.
