Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking an accounting professional to join a growing Audit practice in Miami. The role focuses on planning financial statement audits, budgeting engagements, and delivering high-quality results while applying the firm’s audit methodology.

You will lead planning, perform audits and reviews, and support sound financial decision-making for clients in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation (Master’s preferred).
• CPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam preferred.
• Strong analytical abilities and technical accounting/auditing skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of assurance services including audits, reviews, compilations, and internal control testing.
• Address and resolve client questions and issues related to audit engagements in a timely manner.
• Expand technical knowledge by analyzing complex client transactions and accounting matters.
• Stay current on auditing standards, guidance, and industry developments.
• Contribute to audit planning, risk assessment, and research.
• Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with the audit team on client service and business development.

You’ll work with clients to strengthen the quality and efficiency of their audits while supporting sound financial decision-making. The role centers on leading the planning of financial statement audits, developing engagement budgets, preparing financial statements, and applying the firm’s audit methodology and procedures to deliver high-quality results that meet professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of assurance services, including financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, agreed-upon procedures, and internal control testing
• Address and resolve client questions and issues related to audit engagements in a timely manner
• Expand technical knowledge by analyzing complex client transactions and emerging accounting matters
• Stay current on auditing standards, guidance, and industry developments
• Contribute to audit planning, risk assessment, and research
• Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, effective prioritization, and consistent delivery against deadlines
• Collaborate with the audit team on client service, professional growth, and business development activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation; Master’s degree preferred
• CPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam preferred
• Strong analytical abilities and technical accounting/auditing skills
• Clear communicator who can present findings and recommendations effectively to both internal teams and external clients (written and verbal)
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment focused on delivering results and refining processes
• Team-oriented with solid relationship-building skills
• 4+ years of progressive audit experience
