Job summary

CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA) North Carolina is hiring an Audit & Assurance Senior to join the Construction team. This in-office role supports clients in Charlotte or Raleigh, handling audits, planning, and disclosures with a focus on construction projects.

CPA eligibility preferred; travel to client sites may be required. We seek a detail-oriented professional with a bachelor’s in accounting or finance and at least two years of public accounting audit experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 2 years of public accounting audit experience required; includes financial statements, audits, reviews, compilations.
• CPA eligibility or current CPA preferred; travel to client sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Execute and manage day-to-day audit activities for construction clients from start to finish, including budgeting, planning, fieldwork and financial statements with disclosures.
• Review client accounting and operating procedures.
• Develop and assess design and implementation of internal controls.
• Prepare financial statements and related disclosures and correspondence letters.
• Communicate technical matters clearly to staff, management, and clients.

In this role, you’ll work with our construction clients, a unique opportunity for you to gain specialized skillset in a niche area of expertise that will accelerate your career. This is an in-office position based out of either our Charlotte, NC or our Raleigh, NC office locations.

How you’ll create opportunities in this Audit Senior role:

• Executing and managing the day-to-day activities of audit engagements with our construction clients from start to finish, including managing the budget, planning, fieldwork, directing staff and completing financial statements, including related disclosures
• Reviewing client accounting and operating procedures
• Developing and assessing the design and implementation of internal controls
• Preparing all necessary financial statement and related disclosures and reportable condition correspondence letters
• Utilizing proactive and effective communication with staff, management, and clients to communicate technical matters to both clients and management

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Current CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is preferred.
• 2 years of public accounting audit experience required, with emphasis in financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations is required.
• Prior experience with an established public accounting or professional services firm is preferred.
• Ability to travel to client sites which may also require infrequent overnight travel.
