Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP in Walnut Creek, CA is seeking an Audit Manager in our Financial Services space to deliver industry-focused audit and assurance services to middle-market clients, working alongside firm leadership.

You will mentor staff, manage fieldwork, and help grow client relationships while contributing to the firm’s growth and success in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree required
  • Master's or advanced degree preferred
  • CPA required
  • Five (5) years of auditing/assurance experience
  • Experience with Financial Services in Mortgage Banking or Financial Institutions/Banking preferred
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning to stay current and deliver quality

Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted member of the engagement team delivering assurance and consulting services to Financial Services clients.
  • Proactively engaging with clients to understand business goals and challenges.
  • Testing to assess internal controls deficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Managing all fieldwork to ensure quality service and timely delivery of results.
  • Providing financial statement guidance and business recommendations based on testing.
  • Delivering business insight through review, analysis, and discussion.
  • Assisting with managing engagement staffing, billings/collections, and profitability targets.
  • Using entrepreneurial skills to network and build relationships with clients and the community.
  • Participating in firm-wide learning and development programs.
  • Supporting the growth and development of team members per Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.

What you will do
  • Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing various assurance and consulting services to industry specific clients, positively impacting their financial statements, profitability, and business operations through:
  • Proactively engaging with your clients throughout the year to understand business goals and challenges
  • Implementing appropriate testing to assess deficiencies of internal controls and make recommendations for improvement
  • Managing all fieldwork to ensure quality service and timely delivery of results
  • Playing an active role in providing valuable financial statement guidance and business recommendations based upon various testing performed and information gathered
  • Delivering business insight through thoughtful review, analysis, and discussion
  • Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met
  • Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and the community
  • Invest in your professional development individually and through participation in firm wide learning and development programs
  • Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals

Qualifications
  • 4-year degree required
  • Master's or advanced degree preferred
  • CPA required
  • Five (5) years of experience providing auditing/assurance services required
  • Experience with Assurance work with the Financial Services industry in either Mortgage Banking or Financial Institutions/Banking is preferred.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates desired
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies, see the "big picture" as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects.
  • Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred

Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees:

  • In San Francisco, CA: pay rate range is: $130,000 to $172,950
  • In Walnut Creek, CA: pay rate range is $126,500 to $166,300
