Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is seeking an experienced Audit Professional for our financial services practice in New York. You will lead audits from planning through completion, manage teams, and deliver high-quality financial reporting and regulatory compliance for private equity, hedge funds, and broker-dealers.

Ideal candidates have a BA/BS in Accounting or Finance with a CPA, 5+ years of relevant experience, and strong leadership, communication, and client-relations skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
• 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry with private equity, hedge funds, and broker-dealers.
• Strong knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements; leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit engagements for financial services clients.
• Develop audit plans, including risk assessments and audit strategy.
• Oversee the execution of audit procedures and ensure timely delivery of audit reports.
• Review audit workpapers and ensure documentation complies with professional standards.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and service delivery.
• Provide clients with strategic insights and recommendations for improving financial reporting and internal controls.
• Address and resolve client issues promptly and effectively.
• Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure audits comply with laws and standards.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA required.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry with private equity, hedge fund, and broker-dealer background. Strong knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements specific to the financial services industry. Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team. Great analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and client relationship skills. Proficient in using tax software and Microsoft Office applications.

Pay & Benefits

• In New York, NY: pay rate range is $112,500 to $168,000
• In Uniondale, NY: pay rate range is $108,000 to $161,200
• In Iselin, NJ: pay rate range is $103,500 to $154,500
