Audit Manager – Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC (Covington, LA)

Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC is a Top 100 CPA firm that has operated consistently since 1918. We are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead client engagements, manage team performance, and drive business growth.

Job Responsibilities

• Client Service Excellence: Serve as client’s first point of contact, build personal relationships, proactively provide industry and accounting guidance, delegate appropriately while considering engagement economics.
• Engagement Management: Ensure engagements are completed on time, within budget, and ready for Director or Partner review; keep Partner informed on status and key issues.
• Business Development: Meet charge‑hour and margin goals, set and maintain business‑development targets, manage existing client relationships, identify new opportunities, and assist in proposal development.
• Quality and Expertise: Maintain M&J quality standards, complete Manager‑level review, manage complex accounting issues, draft client deliverables, and present to clients and committees.
• People Management: Recruit, train, coach staff, provide constructive feedback, act as career advisor, lead firm activities (CPE, recruiting, inspections), and model role‑model behaviors.

Required Skills & Abilities

• In‑depth understanding of audit information and industry‑specific requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience managing, coaching, and developing staff accountants.
• Ability to handle multiple audit engagements concurrently.
• Willingness to travel and work weekends as needed.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Active CPA license.
• Public‑accounting experience in a large firm.
