Trustmark is seeking an Executive Director of Audit to lead a disciplined, risk-based program focused on strengthening the company’s internal controls and governance. The role partners with senior leaders to drive improvements and communicates audit insights to the ELT, Audit Committee, and external auditors.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in internal audit or related functions, strong leadership, and proficiency in analytics, automation, and risk-based methodologies to advance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years in internal audit, risk, controls, or related areas with leadership experience.
• Ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and maintain independence.

Responsibilities

• Lead a risk-based internal audit program and strengthen control environment.
• Provide executive guidance to ELT and Audit Committee based on audits and trends.
• Manage day-to-day internal audit operations with risk-based planning and reporting.
• Develop and coach a high-performing audit team with credibility across the organization.
• Coordinate with external auditors and governance stakeholders as a trusted liaison.
• Oversee ICFR testing activities and remediation readiness for regulatory expectations.
• Use analytics and automation to enhance audit coverage and insights.
• Deliver executive-ready reporting on audit results and remediation progress.
• Partner with auditors to define scope and ensure timely, high-quality assurance.
