Job summary

Wipfli is seeking an accounting internship in Augusta, ME. You'll work in-person, supporting audit and tax activities while applying classroom knowledge to real client engagements.

Responsibilities include handling client requests, gathering data, analyzing information, and identifying process improvements. Ideal candidates are pursuing an accounting degree, maintain a GPA of 3.2+, and aim for CPA eligibility after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting (taxation class required).
• Minimum 3.2 GPA (above average competency in accounting).
• Working toward eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
• Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data.
• Ability to think independently and make good decisions based on education and experience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and staff.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire; visa sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
• Gather information from clients to complete required documents.
• Use data analysis to discover useful information and support recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
• Perform audit, review, and compliance testing procedures as directed.
• Prepare or review financial statements and related outputs with GAAP focus.
