Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown in New York is seeking an Audit Intern to gain hands-on public accounting experience. You will work with a team of professionals on financial reviews, data analysis, and compliance checks, with exposure to internal controls and regulatory standards.

The internship runs January through April and hours range from part-time to full-time. Ideal candidates are juniors or seniors majoring in accounting or business, MBA candidates in accounting, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, able to

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior Accounting major or MBA candidate in accounting track.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 20-40 hours per week.
• Ability to commute to one of our office locations.
• Excellent interpersonal and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review client accounting records and financial statements.
• Evaluate internal control systems, audit risk, materiality, and compliance with auditing standards.
• Assist in preparing detailed workpapers supporting audit procedures.
• Perform substantive testing and analytical review procedures.
• Assist with client engagements and other assigned projects.
• Gain exposure to various industries and business environments.
