Job summary

Maher Duessel is seeking a paid audit internship for students pursuing accounting degrees. Interns will gain hands-on experience by testing transactions across cash receipts, disbursements, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and will help prepare financial statements and schedules for clients.

Ideal candidates are sophomores or juniors working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, with strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or Junior status working toward undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, and/or an undergraduate or graduate degree with sufficient course work to qualify to become licensed as a CPA
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A strong dedication to teamwork
• Integrity within the professional environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications
• Reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed testing of transactions including cash receipts, cash disbursements, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and schedules for clients
• Gain exposure to many areas of audit work
• This is a paid internship
