Job summary

South Jersey Industries is seeking an intern for our Internal Audit Team to contribute to financial, operational, compliance, and management auditing responsibilities. You will test controls by reviewing documents, meeting with management, and observing operations to understand processes and controls.

This internship offers exposure to IIA standards, mentorship, and hands-on experience across corporate departments, with opportunities to learn how audits support efficiency and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business or graduate program.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated, take initiative, and work professionally with supervision.
• Ability to analyze data and information, identify problems and provide solutions.

Responsibilities

• Test controls by reviewing documents, meeting with management, and observing operations.
• Identify risks and recommend actions to address them.
• Prepare detailed audit work papers and reports for leadership review.
• Support other audit functions and ad hoc projects as needed.
