USAA in Charlotte, NC seeks an Audit Data Analyst - Staff Auditor to collaborate with audit teams, execute data analytics, identify anomalies, and develop analytics solutions. You will translate insights into actionable recommendations and present findings to peers and senior staff.

The role requires in-office presence four days per week in Charlotte with relocation assistance not available. A strong background in quantitative analytics and experience with SQL or SAS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or 4 years of relevant education/experience.
• 1-2 years of data analytical experience including visualization tools.
• Experience applying data analytics in an audit, risk, or controls environment.
• SQL or SAS data programming experience.
• Ability to understand issues from a data perspective.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a talented Audit Data Analyst - Staff Auditor for our Charlotte, North Carolina location.

As a dedicated Audit Data Analyst - Staff you will be responsible for working with audit teams to execute audit data analytics. Assists in driving innovation in audit execution by identifying data analytics opportunities, and by developing, deploying & supporting data analysis solutions.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be based at our Charlotte, NC location. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you’ll do:

• Executes data analytics approaches in support of internal audits.
• Applies data-driven analytic capabilities to identify anomalies, outliers, emerging trends, and operational risks within assigned audits.
• Applies analytical approaches to draw conclusions and make 'insight to action' recommendations to answer both audit/business objectives.
• Translates recommendation into communication materials to effectively present to colleagues for peer review and senior/lead analysts.
• Delivers analysis and findings to mid-level management, garners support for recommendations to assist in driving business decisions.
• Assist the team in navigating within diverse environments to locate, validate, extract, and format data for data analysis testing.
• Thoroughly documents assumptions, methodology, validation and testing to facilitate peer reviews and compliance requirements.
• Builds knowledge in designing data visualizations with more complex tools to support analytical and reporting needs.
• Assist and begins to build recurring and continuous reporting and automation solutions in various analytics tools (e.g., SQL or SAS) to support risk identification.

What you have:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantitative Analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science, or quantitative field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
• 1-2 years of data analytical experience to include visualization tools.
• Experience applying and working on data and analytics in an audit, risk, or similar controls environment.
• SQL or SAS data programming experience.
• Ability to understand and/or identify issues from a data perspective.
• Experience effectively communicating data to peers and business partners.
• Experience working on business reporting or dashboards.
• Experience developing operational reporting.
• Experience in data processing, database programming, and/or data analytics.
• Ability to create data solutions that are efficient, effective, and essential.

Compensation range:

The salary range for this position is: $69,920.00 - $133,000 .

Compensation:

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
