Job summary

CBIZ is seeking qualified professionals to complete accounting, tax and audit engagements for diverse clients in Houston. You will apply GAAP knowledge, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and manage engagement budgets and timelines.

The role requires strong communication, analytical abilities, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. Internships are preferred, with travel based on client needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Preferred: Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field.
• CPA eligibility or pursuit is preferred and beneficial.
• Internship experience in accounting or related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, taxation compliance and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Complete all aspects of accounting, tax and audit engagements for clients.
• Execute understanding of accounting/auditing principles and tax regulations for client assignments.
• Adhere to engagement budgets and complete tasks within time requirements.
• Strive to meet charge hour goals.
• Engage in early practice development activities to build referral networks.
• Execute administrative duties as assigned.

• Execute solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, general tax regulation, general quality control auditing standards, technology implementation procedures, etc. relative to individual client assignments
• Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks within the time requested
• Strive to attain charge hour goals
• Practice in early practice development activities such as: memberships in qualified organizations capable of referring potential engagements
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

• Complete all aspects of accounting, tax and audit engagements for clients
• Execute solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, general tax regulation, general quality control auditing standards, technology implementation procedures, etc. relative to individual client assignments
• Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks within the time requested

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred
• CPA eligible; desire to obtain certification is required
• Internship experience in accounting or related field preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research and tax project management skills, including basic knowledge of GAAP, Taxation compliance, codes and regulations
• Ability to multi-task, think independently and problem solve in a results driven team oriented environment
• Strong verbal and written communications skills

• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
