Job summary

Mills James is seeking an Audiovisual Technician to support live events and meetings at hotel sites in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role contributes to the hospitality AV team, delivering professional AV services to discriminating hotel properties, convention centers, and corporations.

The candidate will work mornings, evenings, and some weekends, maintaining AV equipment, assisting staff, and ensuring flawless event execution at client sites.

Qualifications

  • One year minimum experience in the audiovisual industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Basic knowledge of audio, video, lighting and computers for meetings.
  • Excellent client service skills and strong communication.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive box trucks/cargo vans.
  • Available for early mornings, evenings and some weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily setup and strike of the AV equipment for meetings and events.
  • Interact with onsite property staff to maximize sales and service and exceed customer expectations.
  • Attend property sales meetings to determine AV needs.
  • Perform maintenance on AV equipment and manage inventory.
  • Communicate equipment maintenance needs to the MJ warehouse Logistics Manager.
  • Oversee supporting staff when needed.

Job description

Mills James is seeking a dynamic Audiovisual Technician to join our growing Milwaukee, Wisconsin Hospitality AV team. This position's primary role is to support the execution of live events and meetings at hotel sites.

Requirements
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in an extraordinary service hospitality environment
  • Possess basic knowledge of audio, video, lighting, and computers for meeting and event purposes; understanding signal flow is a key requirement; computer IT or video conferencing experience is a plus
  • Proven excellent client service skills, effective communication and organizational skills — both oral and written
  • Exceptional attention to the details and good troubleshooting skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must have a valid driver\'s license, reliable vehicle, and able to drive box trucks and cargo vans
  • Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends
  • Candidates must have a minimum of oneyear experience in the audiovisual industry
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
