Job summary

Phoenix Children's is seeking an Audiovisual Technician III to lead enterprise AV deployments, design and implement complex AV systems, and mentor junior staff. You will establish standards, coordinate with vendors, and oversee testing and deployment of AV solutions across the organization.

The role requires strong communication, advanced troubleshooting of video conferencing (Teams/Zoom) and control systems, and adherence to enterprise documentation practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Broadcasting, video, film, or related field OR experience equal to 5 years or more.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience working with a variety of AV systems, equipment, and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving complex audiovisual systems, including video conferencing platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms) and integrated AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, DSP audio systems).

Position Summary

The Audiovisual Technician III serves as the technical leader for enterprise audiovisual systems. This position designs, implements, administers and supports complex AV technologies while establishing standards, leading projects, and mentoring technical staff.

Position Duties
  • Enterprise Technical Leadership
  • Serve as technical lead for enterprise AV systems
  • Develop AV standards and best practices
  • Provide highest-level technical escalation.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies.
  • Recommend capital improvements
  • Systems Engineering
  • Design integrated AV systems.
  • Programs and configures AV control systems (e.g., Neat, Crestron, Extron) and DSP audio systems.
  • Conducts testing and validation of new hardware and software prior to deployment in production environment.
  • Performs quality assurance checks on all hardware and software prior to implementation.
  • Manage firmware lifecycle
  • Review architectural drawings and construction documents
  • Mentorship and Documentation
  • Mentor Levels I and II
  • Coordinates with team members and leadership to identify areas requiring new or revised training and documentation.
  • Create technical procedures.
  • Actively maintains knowledge of departmental processes, procedures, and system configurations relevant to job duties

Position Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Broadcasting, video, film, or related field OR experience equal to 5 years or more.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience working with a variety of AV systems, equipment, and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving complex audiovisual systems, including video conferencing platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms) and integrated AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, DSP audio systems).
  • Previous experience in a health care setting.
Preferred
  • Experience providing mentorship, guidance, or informal training to less-experienced AV staff or end users.
Special Skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding network protocol (LAN, WAN, Wireless).
  • Able to work flexible schedule based on operational needs (may include nights and/or weekends as needed).
  • Able to operate tools, components and peripheral accessories
Additional Requirements
  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I) or other related technical certifications.
  • Current and valid State of AZ Class D Driver’s License.
