Job Description: Facilitates early detection, prompt referral and early habilitation of infants with hearing loss. Are you passionate about early childhood development and interested in a career in communication disorders or speech‑language pathology? We’re looking for a dedicated and detail‑oriented individual to join our team as a Hearing Screening Assistant, conducting newborn hearing screenings in a hospital setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for students or recent graduates pursuing degrees in Communication Disorders, Speech‑Language Pathology, Audiology, or related fields to gain hands‑on experience in a clinical environment while making a meaningful impact in the lives of families.

Essential Functions
  • Conducts newborn hearing screenings per established protocols under the direction of a supervising Audiologist
  • Operates OAE and other designated equipment to conduct hearing screening on neonates and pediatric patients.

Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $18.40 - $23.92
