Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an experienced Level II Audiologist in the Los Angeles area to perform cochlear implant procedures and intra-operative monitoring up to half of the time. The role includes comprehensive audiological case management and coordination of test results with educational and medical data.

The candidate will diagnose hearing disorders, counsel patients and families, and provide rehabilitation services, reports, and recommendations to physicians.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Audiology required.
• One year experience in cochlear implant procedures and/or intra-operative monitoring.
• Audiologist License (California) required.
• National Provider Identifier required at hire
• Basic Life Support required at hire
• CI Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs cochlear implant procedures and/or intra-operative monitoring 30-50% of time worked.
• Provides diagnostic evaluation of hearing, prevention, habilitation and rehabilitation services for auditory problems and research relating to hearing and attendant disorders.
• Physically and otoscopically examines the outer structures of the ear. May include evaluation, fitting and dispensing of hearing aids; cochlear implant assessment, programming and rehabilitation; electrophysiologic evaluation of vestibular and central auditory systems.
• Counsels individuals with auditory disorders, their families and other service providers regarding etiology and management.
• Provides reports and coordinates audiological results with other diagnostic data such as educational, medical, social and behavioral information.
• Consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers, contracted providers and vendors.

Job Summary:

The Level II Audiologist spends 30% to 50% of time worked performing cochlear implant procedures and/or intra-operative monitoring. In addition, the Level II Audiologist provides comprehensive audiological case management which includes administering diagnostic audiological tests that allow the differentiation between types of hearing disorders, coordinating and interpreting test results, consulting with and recommending optimum treatment program on hearing disorders to physicians.

• Provides diagnostic evaluation of hearing, prevention, habilitation and rehabilitation services for auditory problems and research relating to hearing and attendant disorders.

Procedures may include evaluation, fitting and dispensing of hearing aids; cochlear implant assessment, programming and rehabilitation; and electrophysiologic evaluation of the vestibular and auditory mechanisms, in addition to electrocoustic measures of the peripheral and central auditory systems.
