Job summary

WellSpan Health in Lancaster, PA is seeking a part-time Audiologist to join our on-site team on the Day Shift. You will conduct hearing evaluations, interpret results, counsel patients and families, manage records, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include Au.D, state licensure, ASHA or equivalent preferred, excellent communication, and a patient-centered approach. On-site practice with ongoing professional development opportunities is provided.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Audiology (Au.D) from an accredited program.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an audiologist.
  • ASHA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hearing evaluations and diagnostic tests for all ages.
  • Interpret results and provide accurate diagnoses of hearing issues.
  • Counsel patients and families on hearing loss and treatment options.
  • Educate on prevention of hearing loss and noise exposure risks.
  • Perform otoscopic examination and vestibular assessments as applicable.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to coordinate care and referrals.
  • Maintain thorough patient records and documentation.

What you can expect at your practice:
  • Conduct hearing evaluations and diagnostic tests to assess auditory and balance disorders for all ages.
  • Interpret test results and provide accurate diagnoses of hearing impairments or balance issues.
  • Counsel patients and their families on hearing loss, treatment options, and effective communication strategies.
  • Educate patients on the prevention of hearing loss, including noise exposure risks and ear protection.
  • Perform otoscopic examination.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and referral services.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documenting diagnosis.
  • Perform vestibular assessments and manage balance disorder treatments (if applicable).
  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient referrals.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in audiology through continuous education and training.
  • Implement and/or coordinate community, school-based, or occupational hearing screening and conservation programs (if applicable).
  • Supervise audiology assistants who provide support functions to the practice of audiology in addition to audiology students (if applicable)
Audiologist Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in Audiology (Au.D) from an accredited program
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an audiologist
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or equivalent (preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively counsel patients.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Completion of on-site experience through teaching facility. Required

Licenses:
  • Licensed Audiologist Upon Hire Required and
  • Heartsaver CPR/AED Upon Hire Required and
  • Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required or
  • Ped Adv Life Support Upon Hire Required or
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire Required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence of Audiology Upon Hire Preferred
Courses and Training:
  • Meets requirements to enter a clinical fellowship year to attain a Certificate of Clinical Competency. Upon Hire Required and
  • Maintains required licensures and/or certifications to practice in a professional or clinical role per appropriate law or state board regulations. Upon Hire Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Good time management, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiar with use of standard office equipment such as computer, printer, fax, and copier.
