Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in the United States seeks a licensed Audiologist to identify, diagnose, and manage hearing and balance disorders across all ages. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate auditory function using diagnostic tests (pure tone, speech, immittance, OAEs).
  • Assess vestibular function with videonystagmography (VNG).
  • Perform advanced electrophysiologic tests including ABR and VEMP.
  • Interpret results and counsel patients on treatment options.

Exemption Status: Exempt Hiring Range: $75,379.20 - $135,699.20 (based on a full time schedule of 40 hours per week). Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

I. Major Responsibilities:
  1. 1. Identifies, assesses, diagnoses, manages, and interprets test results related to disorders of human hearing, balance, and other neural systems for pediatrics through geriatrics.
  2. 2. Evaluate auditory function of patients utilizing diagnostic audiologic tests that include, but are not limited to, pure tone and speech testing, immittance testing, and otoacoustic emission testing.
  3. 3. Evaluate vestibular system with videonystamography (VNG) procedures.
  4. 4. Perform advanced electrophysiologic tests that include, but are not limited to, Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing, and Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential (VEMP) testing.
  5. 5. Interpret results and counsel patients regarding their test results to determine a course of treatment and review options that best meet their hearing care needs
II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education: Required:
  • 1. Master's or Doctorate Degree in Audiology from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • 2. Massachusetts' Audiologist license.
  • 3. Attainment of the Certificate of Clinical Competence within six months of date of hire.
Experience/Skills: Required:
  • 1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Audiology.
  • 2. Demonstrated skill in analyzing problems and making decisions.
  • 3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • 4. Ability to work cooperatively with all members of the healthcare team.
  • 5. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
  • 1. Minimum of 1 year Audiology experience.
