Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Delaware seeks a full-time Audiologist to join our pediatric audiology team, serving patients at Wilmington and Milford locations. The role involves comprehensive diagnostic and intervention services for children and coordination with medical staff to ensure seamless care.

The ideal candidate holds an AuD, has 3–6 months of pediatric experience, and will participate in precepting students and residents while maintaining licensure and BLS.

Qualifications

• AuD degree required for licensure.
• 3–6 months of experience in pediatric audiology preferred.
• Delaware state audiologist license required upon hire.
• Dual licensure (DE/PA/NJ) within 90 days of hire; active license may not be required at start.
• American Heart Association BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Job Description

Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Audiologist (Full-Time) to join our Audiology Team.

Location for this position will be both our Wilmington, DE and Milford, DE locations.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Audiologist provides a wide variety of pediatric audiology diagnostic and intervention services including compliant documentation, parent/caregiver education, communication and coordination of care with medical/clinical staff and outside agencies as appropriate within the guidelines designated by the department and the Delaware Valley policies and procedures. Audiologists work cooperatively on multidisciplinary, single discipline, program specific and specialty teams. Audiologists also precept students, externs, residents, and new associates as assigned. The Audiologist will also maintain core competencies and any additional clinical competencies determined to be necessary by department leadership to ensure patient care needs are met.

• Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages: pediatrics, adolescents, and young adults; able to provide audiology services to a wide variety of patient types with recognition of his/her own limitations while seeking appropriate mentorship as needed.
• Based on programmatic need and licensure requirements, will be required to provide inpatient/outpatient coverage at various locations associated with Nemours throughout the DE Valley
• Completes timely documentation and billing as required by hospital policies, Joint Commission, and departmental standards.
• Attends meetings related to patient treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member.
• Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend durable medical equipment (Hearing aids, cochlear implants, other assistive technology, etc), home/school modifications and appropriate follow up for further diagnostic testing and care.
• Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral/authorization process and documentation requirements related to Audiology department.
• Completes all mandatory training; may include, but not limited to safety, infection control, corporate compliance, HIPAA, bioterrorism, CPR and program specific respiratory training.
• Team Work, mentoring and preceptorship: Participates in conflict identification and resolution. Works cooperatively on multidisciplinary, single discipline, program specific and specialty teams. Assists in maintenance of department space and equipment. Precepts students, residents, and new associates as assigned.
• Professional Development: Independently seeks to expand clinical knowledge and evidenced based practice through literature reviews, in-services, courses and mentorships. Attends audiology meetings as scheduled.

Job Requirements

• Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree is the entry-level degree to obtain a new license to practice Audiology (required).
• Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months experience required.
• Clinical experience with pediatric audiology preferred.
• State of Delaware Audiologist License required upon hire.
• All clinical staff will maintain dual licensure (DE, PA, and/or NJ). Must submit license or proof of application submission within 2 weeks of job acceptance, but this second license is not required to be active at the start of employment. Secondary license must be obtained within the first 90 days of hire.
• American Heart Association BLS certification Basic Life Support required (within 6 months of date of hire) and must be maintained for duration of employment.
