Job summary

HealthDrive is seeking a part-time Audiologist to cover nursing facilities across Rhode Island. The role offers 2 days per week with prorated compensation, and full administrative support. On-site visits to facilities are required with no evenings or on-call duties.

The ideal candidate has an Audiology degree (Masters or Doctorate) and an active state license, with proficiency in EMR and independent daily operation.

  • Audiology background with proficiency in assessment and management of hearing disorders.
  • Ability to work independently on a daily basis with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with EMR and related software.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive examinations, evaluations, and auditory consultations.
  • Provide diagnostic audiology services including hearing aid evaluations and fittings.
  • Dispense and adjust hearing aids and perform cerumen management where allowed.
  • Complete patient documentation in the EMR and apply proper billing codes.
  • Adhere to OSHA guidelines and ensure proper sterilization of equipment.

HealthDrive is currently seeking an Audiologist, to work Part-Time (2 days/week), covering nursing facilities across Rhode Island.

Responsibilities
Role Overview & Responsibilities for Audiologists:
  • Conduct comprehensive examinations, evaluations, and auditory consultation.
  • Traditional daily patient care will include comprehensive diagnostic audiological examinations, hearing aid evaluations, hearing aid selections and repair.
  • Dispense and adjust new hearing aids.
  • Perform cerumen management, where allowed by state professional regulations.
  • Complete required patient and clinical documentation in our proprietary electronic medical record system.
  • Responsible for applying proper coding guidelines and populating appropriate billing codes for services provided to patients.
  • Adheres to OSHA guidelines regarding patient care, disposal of materials, and sterilization of equipment.
Qualifications
  • Audiology background with proficiency in the assessment, treatment, management and evaluation of hearing disorders.
  • Ability to work independently on a daily basis.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use EMR, text, email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software.
  • Self starter attitude with the desire to deliver quality, thoughtful and attentive care.
Physical Requirements for Audiologist:
  • Ability to stand, to bend, and to lift.
  • Ability to transport mobile audiology equipment (maximum of 15 lbs.).
  • May be occasional required to transport patients in wheelchairs.
Education & Qualifications:
  • Masters or Doctorate Degree in Audiology
  • Current State professional license.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Travel:

This is a mobile position. Daily travel is based on the patient care requirements for the specified service area; your Practice. A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive significant distances on occasion is required.
