Provides diagnostic, habilitative, and rehabilitative services to patients referred to the Audiology clinic for hearing and balance problems.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Master’s degree in Audiology required.
- Must be eligible for West Virginia State Licensure in Audiology, or applicable state where services will be performed.
Preferred Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Doctor of Audiology (AuD).
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A).

- Administer audiological and vestibular tests.
- Perform routine audiometry.
- Perform site of lesion tests, non-organic tests, impedance measures, otoacoustic emission tests, auditory brainstem response tests, and videonystagmography, and other various electrophysicological tests as needed.
- Administer sound field testing for the pediatric and difficult-to-test population.
- Assessment of cochlear implant candidacy, programming and follow-up of cochlear implant patients
- Assist in the training of residents in otolaryngology and the supervision of graduate students enrolled in clinical practical experience in audiology.
- Maintain responsibility for hearing aid utilization and dispensing.
- Maintain the supply of hearing aids in the clinic.
- Administer hearing aid evaluations and hearing aid checks.
- Counsel patients regarding their hearing test results and need for amplification, aural rehabilitation, ear protection, etc.
- Provide technical assistance to the clinic personnel on new technology and advances in hearing aid design, operation, and fitting techniques.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of patients seen for hearing services.
- Responsible for test results. Maintain impressions recommendations.
- Correspond with authorized personnel or agencies and information pertinent to the clinics statistical information.
- Oversee and administer the aural rehabilitation services.
- Schedule patients for habilitation and rehabilitation following programming of hearing aids and/or cochlear implants.
- Maintain accurate records of patients' receiving aural rehabilitation therapy.
- Refer patients in need of other professional services to the appropriate personnel, clinics, agencies, etc.
- Evaluate patients in OR on an as needed bases
