Job summary

Empower Mental Health invites an audiologist to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) evaluations for Veterans, using VA guidelines and standardized testing. You will gather histories, conduct hearing and tinnitus assessments, and prepare VA-compliant reports with objective, unbiased findings.

The role emphasizes strict confidentiality, ethical practice, and timely documentation, with no patient caseload, focused solely on evaluation reports for VA purposes.

Qualifications

• Active Audiologist license
• Access to calibrated audiometer for VA evaluations
• Access to diagnostic tympanometer for tympanometry and reflex testing
• One of the listed AuD/MA/MS/PhD/EdD/MC degrees

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) audiology evaluations for Veterans Perform structured hearing and tinnitus-related evaluations based on VA guidelines Utilize Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and standardized audiology testing protocols Gather relevant history through focused, objective interviews Complete audiometric testing and related clinical documentation as required Prepare clear, concise, and timely reports in VA-required formats Provide factual, unbiased assessments without influencing outcomes Complete and submit documentation within required timeframes Maintain clear boundaries between evaluation and treatment Adhere to all ethical, legal, and confidentiality standards

Required Qualifications

• Active Audiologist license Must have access to a calibrated audiometer capable of performing VA-required hearing evaluations Must have access to a diagnostic tympanometer (immittance device) capable of performing tympanometry and acoustic reflex testing One of the following educational credentials: Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) Master of Science (M.S.) in Audiology Master of Audiology (M.A.) PhD in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology Master's in Communication Disorders (MCD) Doctor of Education in Audiology (Ed.D.) Strong documentation and report-writing skills Ability to follow structured evaluation protocols Comfortable performing objective, fact-based evaluations

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience conducting VA, C&P, disability, or forensic-style evaluations Experience with audiometric testing and tinnitus evaluations Strong organizational and time management skills Access to equipment such as: SHOEBOX Audiometer Interacoustics Titan (with diagnostic modules) Interacoustics AT235 / AT235h GSI TympStar Pro Comparable diagnostic audiology equipment
